Mothers' Club Minutes

The Mothers' Club

Our moms were the generally unsung heroines of Beta Epsilon.  We tidied up the houses when they came for their luncheons, but then pretty much forgot about them.

The exception was Lorena Herrig, our House Mother for 13 years (1957-70).  She's still going strong in the second half of her 90's.  The this year's 6294 banquet, John Hamel gave me an envelope containing the documents in this section.  He had received them from Lorena at meeting they had earlier this year.

Attached to it was this note, in her tiny, exquisite handwriting:

Dave,

I was going through some of my files and found these minutes of Mothers' Club, Beta Epsilon Chapter.  I thought you might find them interesting.  They are yours to keep, read, toss, or ?

Hope this finds you well and busy.

Lorena

Indeed, I DID find them interesting, particularly the first page, summarizing the projects the Mothers' Club took on from 1954-1966.  They literally made the House a home for their boys.

I hope you will read them and appreciate the Club for what they accomplished.  As we think about breathing new life into Beta Epsilon, is it out of the question to reestablish the Mothers' Club?
